Duk Hee Kang and Jae Hyoung Lee January 21, 2024 Jeju Island, South Korea
Temple of Light Service
Steve Ventola — Good evening, good morning, good afternoon. Today Duk Hee and Jae Hyoung will be leading our time, and when Duk Hee and Jae Hyoung come to my mind I think of a king and a queen. And I look forward to the time that we have with you both. Anne will introduce our speakers.
Anne Blaney — It’s my pleasure to introduce today’s speakers, Jae Hyoung Lee and Duk Hee Kang from Jeju Island, South Korea. Many of you know our friends from years back. They have been offering leadership in Emissary communities in Korea beginning in 2005 at the tangerine farm that was purchased back then, and then in the Joyville community until its sale last year. Since Yujin and Marsha’s arrival at Joyville in 2008, Jae Hyoung, Yujin and Marsha have been alternating in offering weekly services. For about 7 years these services have been streamed live on YouTube and later on Zoom as well, each Saturday in America, Sunday morning in Korea. Now that the “Art of Living School” has established a center with full time staff in the city of Seoul, under Yujin’s hand, (the current location was recently acquired) Jae Hyoung has assisted teaching seminars and trainings in Seoul.
Duk Hee has been at Jae Hyoung’s side for 50 years of marriage, and in their spiritual journey, raising their family and pursuing an academic career, she accompanied Jae Hyoung to Sunrise and many other places, and specifically finds resonance with attunement. In Jeju, both Jae Hyoung and Duk Hee provide mentorship for an alternative school, of which students and teacher attend their services, now held in their new home in Jeju. To give you an insight of the core essence of Jae Hyoung, which he shares with Dukhee, I’ll relate a story Jae Hyoung shared in his service last night in Korea.
His story began with an experience during a nightly sanctification. As he closed his eyes to bring into consciousness all those he loves, he found himself unable to think of anything else but the words, “O Lord”, and those words came through his lips. He said it over and over again. “Oh Lord, O Lord.” And he said:
“It occurred to me that the whole universe is filled with the Glory of the LORD. I’m in that universe filled with the Glory of the LORD, and deep gratitude filled my heart. And I wondered… if one person’s expression of gratitude could fill the whole universe? Not a logical thought, but some segments of some thoughts and some feelings came to my mind and my heart.
“If you ask why, about anything, the correct answer is… ‘Glory to the Lord’. The reason for everything’s existence is… ‘Glory to the Lord.’ Why do we meet? The answer is… ‘to the Glory of the Lord.’ If you ask the reason why we live or express, there’s no right answer except… ‘Glory to the Lord!’”
That friends, is Jae Hyoung; and Duk Hee is the woman who shares her life with him. So we’ll open up the space and welcome Duk Hee. Duk Hee, we are grateful that you are speaking to us in English, because most of us can’t speak Korean! But understanding that the heart speaks its own language, we are ready to listen to you with care and love. So Duk Hee, we turn it over to you now.
Duk Hee Kang — Thank you Anne. I feel it now, the tangible pneumaplasm, and that touches me very much. Yes—such a feeling lets me remember the Asian Council gathering by John and Pam Grey, held in Seoul during the 1980s. We were gathered with 30-40 angelic friends from Japan, India, Singapore, Canada, America, and Koreans. The tangibility of pneumaplasm lets me continuously remember my first visit to Glen Ivy and Sunrise Ranch in 1989 when we had the first Korean Art of Living seminar there. In terms of the pneumaplasm of each place, I have special experiences there.
In Glen Ivy I couldn't sleep at midnight, because of the time shift from Korea and California. But my consciousness was very clearly awakened to make a poem in English. How amazing the experience, I had. At the time I did not know about the word “pneumaplasm” consciously, but I felt an invisible something that let me be influenced so much unconsciously. At Sunrise Ranch, after a mini-session of attunement with Roger De Winton, I realized to accept the invisible but influential realm around us. Then, when I received attunement from an attunement practitioner at the sanctuary, I felt the density of pneumaplasm, and my arms moved with the attunement current naturally flowing there.
In the “Book of Grace”—nowadays we have had a study group in Jeju—in “A Cosmic View Of The Bible” Grace began to write about Genesis: “There are seven steps in the process of God’s creation, and there is the procession of the seven through the four forces as they manifest in the four aspects of substance: water, air, earth, and fire.” As we know, our Emissaries of Divine Light had been in the cycles of creation. In her book Grace mentioned Richard Thompson, a competent physicist, who made the compound word “pneuma-plasm” for Uranda to illustrate this invisible but tangible connecting substance—which was very needed to establish Sunrise Ranch physically in the earth cycle. From 1946 to 1953 it was the earth cycle for Sunrise Ranch.
In the first water cycle, from 1932 to 1939, Uranda went around to teach many lectures, and he wrote many important booklets of truth. And in the air cycle, from 1939 to 1946, he began to provide a correspondence course to the hungry and thirsty people, to give this spiritual teaching of the reality of love, truth and life. Frankly speaking, I began to realize that the cycles of creation are very important and influential for every creature’s life and death individually and collectively.
Just after the 90th anniversary of our Emissary Body, when David Barnes’ Temple of Light service, titled “Trailing Clouds Of Glory” [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2022/10.html] came near the beginning of an air cycle, he introduced a book titled “The New Science Of Heaven”, written by Robert Temple, and he said, “Robert Temple is activated by the movement of the Spirit of Truth, and open to an awareness of the existence of invisible fields of fire, light, and cloud inherent in the reality of intelligent Being and radiant plasma.” Plasma is very similar to our pneumaplasm. According to his discovery, nearly all scientists in the field believe that the universe is more than 99% made of plasma, which lets us have cosmic identity easily. And he let us know “images that portray previously invisible aspects of the vast dimensional universe photographs” through the invention of the James Webb Space Telescope. Moreover, David expanded our vision of the spiritual teachings by Uranda, Martin, and Grace through Robert Temple’s discoveries and the invention of the James Webb Space Telescope.
And another two services—in 2023, David and Robert Merriman had a service, as you know, titled “Joshua and Caleb—The Word Of Good Report”. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2023/10.html] And another one is by Anne Blaney, titled “Living Is Of The Heart.” [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2023/11.html] I was touched by these three services, in terms of the cycles of creation. I think these three services let us know several essences. (1) The cycles of creation flow spirally and eternally. (2) Trust Divine Providence and live in attunement with Divine Identity at the crossover point between the unidimensional and dimensional realms, and consider the nature of the largely invisible but dimensional heaven and the visible and dimensional earth. Heaven is on earth here and now. (3) Pneumaplasm can be more tangible, visible, and accessible from the micro-cosmic level to the macro-cosmic level. (4) The humbling attitude toward our legacy of spiritual teaching. Especially Anne expressed her experience with Martin when physically meeting him, and being influenced by him, and living with him was a blessing of receiving much truth, and it was just humbling to have those experiences. So, yes, it means for me, that anyone who keeps her or his position at the crossover point, with heart connecting horizontally and vertically, that’s important. It's how we do all the things we have to do. That’s another important essence I think, yes; each one to do to their ability, to use on earth, to act on earth.
So, because of my expression, my lack of fluent English, I hope I have expressed enough to articulate my heart. But I trust you can understand and communicate with me. So on to Jae Hyoung’s speaking now.
Jae Hyoung Lee — Thank you Duk Hee. Even though your expression in English is not that fluent I trust all of us could hear what you would like to say through your heart—so beautiful. I am so happy and excited to be able to have a service time today. We are here together to worship our LORD. Our very lives are worship. Our every expression, action and activity is offering a sacrifice, out of which we have an opportunity for ascension through sacrifice. Everyone in the world offers sacrifice to the gods they serve.
On this past Sunday, during the response time at end of the service, Laura commented about how grateful she is that we could carry on the work that Uranda began in 1932, despite all that’s happened since then. At the meeting afterwards, in Jeju, someone asked. “Is there hope for humanity?” I think there is. I used two stories I heard recently as evidence. One of them is the ByeopSsi (Seed rice) School students, that Anne mentioned in her introduction of us.
They are students from middle school to high school; and they live together in Jeju for a year when they are in the third grade of their middle school. They live together to get training to have new habits and to have a right consciousness. They experience subsistence living, as self-sufficient as possible. They grow their food by composting their fertilizer the old-fashioned way. Electric rice cookers are available but they still do it old-fashioned way. And for housing, they are learning to build their own. They also keep away from smart phones and other advantages of civilization as much as possible, so that they are learning not to be slaves of a convenience driven civilization. They are learning to live together while being aware of the ties of the time when communities are crumbling. They have a rigorous schedule of training and learning all aspects of life, and nurture the seeds of spirituality by coming to our service every week to listen and share what they listen to and feel there. And every evening they have a time of feedback with each other. We have witnessed this with them for over a decade and have been amazed to see their transformation. I think that’s the hope of the age—that there are young people who are maturing in this way.
The students cook their meals in a cauldron with firewood; and a student named Dasol, who has just joined the school is on breakfast cook duty, but she's not good at it because of that. She has been doing this for a week until she gets the hang of it, but during this time her friends are willing to eat half-cooked rice every morning until she gets the hang of it. And the teachers are no exception. YoungYi Lee, who founded the school and is now the director of Jeju Center of the school, has over-worked all her life and she has some health problems lately, especially with digestion; so she needs a careful diet. But she needs to eat that half-cooked rice with the students. It's a touching story that I have not heard anywhere else.
Another example might be this. A long time ago, when Korea was under Japanese rule, there were schools that provided true human education, even in that situation. One of them was Osan Middle School, and many artists and independent activists came out of it. There was a school that nurtured the right spirit, and looking back, the existence of such a school made it possible to have hope in those dark times. There have probably been many schools, organizations and people that have played this role throughout history, and humanity has survived because of them. Humanity has only survived because of these salt of the earth individuals and organizations.
Since the education part of our program moved to Seoul, I've had more opportunities to meet with new people in Jeju; but the people I keep meeting are people who are similar in consciousness, and have been pursuing the truth on a different path than us. So it feels like we're meeting at the peak of the path of each of us. We can just look at each other and know each other immediately. Based on that experience we had the service last week about how each of us is at the center of a tribe, a community; and how those tribes are woven together like a thread to form a larger community. We play a necessary role in those encounters, which Martin called the role of pouring water. That role is to help the reality that is revealed through the beings we encounter to ascend. I'd like to quote a part of Martin's 1980 Assembly service related to that, titled “Two Crossover Points—Spiritual Government” [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2022/09/two-crossover-pointskarma.html]
“In order to keep human beings from congealing too much in whatever forms they may find themselves, we are aware of the value of water. Pure water, the symbol of truth—is what was poured over Elijah’s sacrifice, so that everything was sodden; it was quite soft, capable of yielding. And so truth is a vital element here, an element that is present in our own consciousness—it must be there if we are to pour the water over the sacrifice. And we stand at the point of observation, knowing that our presence provides an ingredient in the situation that was not there before. That ingredient includes our own view and understanding of what it is that is taking place. Our view of any forms is important, because this is the way that the water is poured over the sacrifice. This is not requiring anything of anyone else; it is just our own view, our own understanding of the situation.”
A long time ago, Roger De Winton asked me to send him a picture of mine, and I did. I heard that he was connected to a number of people around the world and he had photos of them taped up in front of him, and he gave an attunement every day thinking of each of them. In hindsight, they were part of his tribe. I too, for decades now, have a sanctification time before bed, where I have a blessing time to those who are in my consciousness, one by one. These are my tribe.
As I finished last Sunday service, and listened to an audio of Uranda’s service posted on the Great Cosmic Story, a thought occurred to me. This service was done in 1953—so it's amazing that it is still so relevant to me now, seventy years later. And it occurred to me that the community of the Third Sacred School transcends space and time, and all those who are not present in form are present in it, and all those who not present in form are present in spirit. Our Lord Jesus, Uranda, Martin, and Roger De Winton, and Grace, and all those who are present now in this room, and those who are not present in form but are present in spirit, are present in the community. And this community is providing the core substance today. I think we have all conditions that make it possible: the technology, the science, the consciousness, all are available to humanity. In fact, we are providing the core substance for humanity.
So, as long as we are in our place and doing our part, I think this world is safe. And as long as the LORD can be in this world through us, and as long as the LORD is in this world, this world is safe. Long ago, the Lord Jesus had to do it all alone. Most of the disciples weren't with Him, but now we are here for the Glory of the LORD.
Last night I received an email from Louise Broomberg from South Africa. She heard the service I gave last Sunday and she resonated [youtu.be/_CLGvAf2qQs?si=Tedn5NG1_LGSm-AF]; and she sent me a short video. It's really inspiring. Louise said that she loves what I said about the name of the LORD being enough; and that was her experience—just living in each moment in praise and thanksgiving to the LORD. Louise introduced that video to me. Before closing I’d like to share that content. There is a video by a Franciscan priest named Richard Rohr, and he said, “The name of God is in our very breath. The name of God, YHWH (Yah-Weh) is in our breath.” And he said that Jewish people are learning how to read the words consisting only in consonants. But Jehovah, the four letter word (YHWH) is pronounced a different way. It can be expressed in our breath like this: in our inhaling … exhaling … inhaling … exhaling [Jae Hyoung demonstrated] … inhaling … exhaling … our breathing itself is the name of God Jehovah. So it means that we are glorifying the LORD through our breathing all the time. Whenever we breathe we are glorifying our Lord. It's very interesting to know. So let's breathe together, glorifying our LORD. Yes … inhaling … exhaling ... inhaling … exhaling … not using our tongue because there's no pronouncing vowels, just the consonants, so we are not using our tongue.
Okay, I'd like to close my words here, and I’d like to invite you to have any comments and response.

Steve Ventola — Jae Hyoung, as we commune with you in silence and clarity, we acknowledge that our breath has an influence, all the time, individually and together. As we open up this time for comments, let's keep in mind to keep our comments clear and concise so Jae Hyoung and Duk Hee can more easily hear and understand.
Pamela Gray — I would say praise the LORD for you, Jae Hyoung, and you Duk Hee, for the focus that you bring on earth, the spiritual focus. It was no coincidence that you came when you did and connected exactly when you were supposed to connect, and since then you have drawn quite a sizeable tribe of spiritual leaders in their own right, who recognize your spiritual leadership. And so I felt in this time you could hear a pin drop; it felt like that we were all in one room in one accord, breathing with you—God in action on earth. Thank you for your part in this great world where we live together.
Christine Jonas — Thanks, Pamela. I think as we open ourselves to other expressions and languages, and as we listen to the sound of a person's expression, we become more adept at encompassing this whole world. I love that. I haven't had a lot of experience with the Korean people over my lifetime, but every time I listen, I want to hear more; and I love that you don't even have to speak, because your presence is profound to me. And I hope that my presence is as profound. I understood everything that you said because I just opened my heart and there you were. Thank you so much.
Deborah Starrs — I loved your words that we are slaves no more; and what came through loud and clear to me is that truth sets free. This is how we've come on earth and what we've come to do, to set free the clear, true spirit of the Lord incarnate on earth. Your representation of that touches my heart deeply. I'm so grateful to know you now in spirit, and indeed our tribe is One Body on earth, and it is our joy to be together. Thank you so much for your expression, both of you.
Carol Travis — Duk Hee and Jae Hyoung, it was well said that you represent the King and Queen. Your expressions gave such evidence of that. And to be together in this precious time and in this precious place to bring East and West together through our connection with you is such a wonderful opportunity. I'm so thankful that we are serving together on earth today.
Tony Palombo — Kamsahamnida, Jae Hyoung and Duk Hee, kamsahamnida, thank you. Your beautiful presence reminds me of the time I was with you all, back in 1999, I believe. You are a beautiful spirit, thank you for being on earth. Praise the LORD.
Laura Fisher — And the walls came tumbling down, and here we are all together. Your sweet and innocent expressions have been deeply felt; and let the wings of angels wrap themselves around us all. As you said last night, the earth is not separate from the water, and the sky is not separate from the earth or the clouds. You said it so beautifully, Jae Hyoung, and here we are together, one heart and one way. We don't need to discuss it because we are it. I am so very grateful for your expression, and for this gathering of the truth. Thank you.
David Barnes — Jae Hyoung and Duk Hee, it's always a joy to engage you and work with you. I think what you brought here today is meaningful. It spans a great history of spiritual emergence on the planet and it acknowledges that there are those of us present, and have been in the past, and will be in the future, who know that the reality of Divine Being created each body temple. All that is required is for the human being who thinks it belongs to him or her, to let go to the One who built the body temple for His or Her own use, in service to the LORD of Lords and His purposes within this greater Temple of Light that we call Heaven and Earth. The one named David needs to recede, so that the One who built this body temple is allowed to come forth increasingly. When that happens the Glory of the Lord begins to fill this body temple. Then everything that is done and said in the world glorifies the Lord of the body temple, and the LORD of heaven and earth—and in this way the LORD’s world is kept safe; but the man-made world is never safe. I was so pleased that Anne brought to us a few of your words from the service last night: Glory to the Lord of the body temple; Glory to the LORD of Lords for the Great Temple of Light within which all of us reside as God Beings. And we have the privilege to be divinely human, men and women who know these things and provide a focus for them, as you did so simply and beautifully in our company, this morning where you are and this evening here where we are. I am grateful for you and for your friendship.
Robert Merriman — What a privilege it is to breathe in the name of the Lord with you, and with all who will at this time. What a beautiful communion. Thank you for this demonstration of how to cook perfect rice! It's done, and the waters flow, and the fire falls into the communion of saints. We've had the privilege to share together in a very special way with both of you tonight. I'm most grateful, and the angels are singing in heaven right now. Thank you.
Suzanne Core — Jae Hyoung and Duk Hee, I too am very thankful for this precious hour together. I always appreciate how each of you, both of you, gather our hearts together in worship—not a lot of words, no fuss, but the heart worships together. Thank you so much.
Norae — Kamsahamnida all. Thank you Jae Hyoung for your service. In this place I feel connected through open hearts from all of you. I could feel the breeze of God that you spoke of in it, and in every sentence of what Jae Hyoung shared with us. Here it is snowing. Jae Hyoung’s voice, and all of your voices, feel like falling as lightly as snow to me now. Even though I can't understand it all; but falling snow is melting in my body and I can feel your energy, so that, Ahh, we are connected, as one at this moment. Wow, unbelievable! Thank you for this moment. And also, I'm very proud of Jae Hyoung and Duk Hee. I feel a humble attitude through the service, beautiful, grateful. And your eyes, all of your eyes, twinkling, twinkling, because all of you are in one place! So beautiful, grateful. Thank you so much.
Yujin Pak — Thank you Jae Hyoung. A breath of God. I felt that through you, through your presence, your breathing. In the service yesterday you spoke the words, “The Lord” as you close your eye at night, and dwelt in the ringing vibration of those words, “The Lord”. And all was in it. The universe was in it. There was nothing outside of it. Just the Lord is. And today you shared that with us in the vibration of your atmosphere and your presence. As you said it at the end, “As long as the LORD is present, the earth is safe.” So it is that we dwell in the vibration of the One, of the LORD, the One we are, our KING. And in that the world is safe, and together we breathe that vibration and make this world safe. Thank you.
Duk Hee — Thank you so much for your heartfelt response, even if just silent I could feel your heart. We are in one place with one accord. And in this moment I feel the continuous spiral flow of the cycles of creation. So, in Uranda’s earth cycle stage he physically established the Third Sacred School community; but nowadays the Third Sacred School community is like this kind of gathering. We trust Divine Providence and live in attunement with Divine Identity at the crossover point between the unidimensional and dimensional realms, and consider the nature of the largely invisible but dimensional heaven and the visible and dimensional earth. Heaven is on earth here and now. Pneumaplasm can be more tangible, visible, and accessible from the micro-cosmic level to the macrocosmic level. I could feel your heart in one accord in one place. With one accord in one place, I feel now in the air cycle we can connect with each other. We establish a community like this. So all of us are members of this community. Thank you. Thank you.
Jae Hyoung — Thank you Duk Hee. Thank you for this precious time we shared together. The world outside seems to be very problematic in an outer sense, but so long as we are here in oneness, providing the core substance, the world is safe. I think what is important is only that point—being here and now in oneness, providing that living life substance now, and in every moment through our breathing. Thank you.
Steve Ventola — Jae Hyoung, we thank you for your words, but especially we thank you for the space between your words. It allowed us to really commune in spirit, and that's what we treasure. As we treasure, we know the Glory of Lord within ourselves, and out through ourselves, and that allows for the earth to be assured because of the presence through us. Wonderful to share this time with you all. Our next Temple service will be on February 18th and Milly Holliday will lead our time.
